The college is listed in the current edition of the Higher Education Directory and is approved for the training of veterans. Barclay College is a member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). Other offices and personnel on campus maintain membership in a wide variety of professional organizations appropriate to their work. Barclay College graduates have found acceptance into leading seminaries and graduate schools. Kansas State Department of Education

Barclay College’s Teacher Education program has submitted all requested documents for the Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) approval of a state licensure program. At this time, the review team has approved the Conceptual Framework and Preconditions. KSDE notified Barclay College on Oct 3, 2013 that the review team is recommending that Barclay be designated as candidate. KSDE will send the recommendation through ERC during their next meeting on December 6, 2013. Barclay can start work on program submission in spring 2014 and arranging for the accreditation visit in fall of 2014. Association of Christian Schools International

Barclay College was granted Accreditation for their Teacher Education program on Feb 12, 2013 by the Association of Christian Schools International, ACSI. This accreditation is approved for a period of ten years, beginning with the graduating class of Spring 2013 and concluding with spring graduation class of 2023. A one-day, on-site revisit by an ACSI representative will occur during the 3rd year of approval. Renewal will take place with a full team revisit on or before March 2023. This accreditation allows the Teacher Education graduates to receive a certification through ACSI to teach in the K-12 Christian Schools that are also accredited by ACSI. Higher Learning Commission

Barclay College is pursuing candidacy through the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), for regional accreditation. The HLC accepted the College’s “Letter of Intent to Complete Eligibility Filing” on October 31, 2012 and the “Eligibility Filing: Institutional Submission” that was submitted on December 31, 2012. The panel found favor with Barclay College’s filings and a “Letter of Intent to Pursue Candidacy” was submitted on April 2, 2013. The institution is currently preparing the documents for the HLC “Self-Study: Practices and Assumptions”, which will be submitted in early March 2014. A campus visit is scheduled with the review team on April 28-30, 2014.

Barclay College Self Study

Barclay College is seeking comments from the public about the College, its programs and services, and its role within the community. The College is seeking comments as part of its preparation for seeking candidacy for accreditation with the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association. The candidacy visit will be hosted in late April 2014. An evaluation team representing the Commission will review the institution’s ability to meet the Commission’s eligibility and federal compliance requirements. It will also review the College’s progress in meeting the Commission’s Criteria for Accreditation.
