Faith-Based, Ministry-Minded, Professional Nursing Education
Accepting applications for Fall 2025
BSN Program Highlights
The Barclay College BSN program is designed for those seeking licensure as a registered nurse at the baccalaureate level. This dual-degree program awards a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies (BBS).
High-Quality Program
Barclay College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (hlcommission.org), a regional accreditation agency recognized by the Department of Education. The program features highly-skilled faculty with over 40 years of combined nursing education experience and a low instructor-to-student ratio, ensuring personalized instruction and support.
Ministry-Minded Focus
Christian faith is integrated throughout the educational experience, with 30 hours of Biblical Studies included in the program. This integration allows students to explore the intersection of faith and healthcare, guiding them to provide compassionate, patient-centered care grounded in Christian values.
Professional Nursing Education
Professional nursing courses equip students for roles in nursing practice, leadership, management, research, and administration. These courses emphasize the development of critical thinking, ethical decision-making, and evidence-based practice to prepare students for the diverse challenges they will encounter in the healthcare field.
Clinical Learning Experiences
Clinical learning experiences take place in Barclay College’s newly remodeled Jackson Hall and in partnering healthcare agencies. Jackson Hall houses both a skills laboratory and a simulation hospital.
Skills Laboratory
The skills laboratory offers a six-bed learning environment where students use low-fidelity patient manikins to apply theoretical concepts and develop the skills necessary to deliver safe, high-quality, patient-centered care in a controlled setting.
Simulation Hospital
The simulation hospital offers a four-bed, hospital-like environment where students use high-fidelity patient simulators to develop advanced nursing skills in mock clinical scenerios. This setting allows students to make and correct mistakes in real-time while learning without the risk of compromising patient safety. Additionally, students can strengthen their abilities in prioritization, management, and delegation of patient care.
Nursing Practicums
Students will engage in professional nursing practicums throughout the BSN program at partnering healthcare agencies. Current partnering agencies include Pratt Regional Medical Center, Kiowa County Memorial Hospital, Ascension Via Christi, Pratt Health and Rehab, Grand Plains Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation, and Larned State Hospital.
Full Tuition Scholarship
Barclay College is committed to making education affordable by working with students to find the best financial opportunities for educational investment.
A Full Tuition Scholarship is awarded to all full-time students residing in the dorms. Funded by college supporters, this scholarship enables students to receive a high-quality Christian education without the burden of significant debt.
Students are responsible for room, board, and associated fees, including general, special, and technology fees. Additional federal financial aid, scholarships, and grants may be available to help cover these costs.
Admissions
In addition to meeting the general Admissions and Registration requirements at Barclay College, submission of the Nursing Program Application is required. This will initiate the enrollment process into the program. After submission of the Nursing Program Application, an Admission Counselor will provide guidance on the next steps to ensure a smooth transition into the program.
