To close out the 2012-13 regular season schedule the Bears had a critical NCCAA Southwest Region match-up against Dallas Christian on Friday, February 8th and a rematch with Rhema Bible the following Saturday.
The Bears entered Friday's game 3-2 in region play and a win would guarantee them a first round bye in the five team tournament. Early on in the first half, the Bears suffered two key injuries and found themselves finishing the game with seven players but were still able to give themselves an opportunity to win. However, in the final five minutes of the game, the Bears gave up some crucial offensive rebounds which the Crusaders capitalized on as they pulled out a 95-81 victory.
Saturday, the Bears faced Rhema Bible. The Bears beat the Eagles in the first game of the year 118-117 but this game featured two much different teams. The Bears came out slow and watched the Eagles build a double digit lead by halftime. In the second half, the Bears made one rally to get the game back to single digits but ran out gas. The Eagles won 87-64.
The Bears finished the regular season 15-7 and 8-2 in conference play. They will play Calvary Bible in the opening round of the MCCC Tournament on Thursday, February 14th at 2:30 PM CST.
